Who are Bureau & Co's typical clients?
Our clients are Romanian and EU-based private individuals, business owners, and family offices with investable assets typically above 250,000 lei. They share a common priority: protecting what has been built, rather than maximising return at the expense of stability. We also advise corporate treasury teams on preserving short-to-medium-term liquidity reserves.
How does the fee structure work?
Bureau & Co charges exclusively on a fixed retainer or percentage-of-assets-under-advisory basis, agreed transparently before any engagement begins. We accept no referral fees, trailer commissions, or payments from product providers. This ensures that every recommendation we make is driven entirely by your interests, not ours.
Do you manage investments directly?
We are an advisory and structuring firm, not a discretionary asset manager. We design the architecture, recommend the instruments, and monitor the structure on an ongoing basis — but custody and execution sit with regulated, independent third-party institutions selected by you, with our guidance.
What is an insurance wrapper and why might it suit me?
An insurance wrapper is a life-insurance policy issued by a regulated EU carrier that holds a diversified portfolio of funds or securities. It provides tax deferral on internal gains, potential creditor protection depending on jurisdiction, and a defined mechanism for transferring assets to beneficiaries. It is particularly efficient for clients with cross-border EU family or business relationships.
How long does the initial structuring process take?
A standard engagement — from initial diagnostic meeting to documented structure recommendation — typically takes six to ten weeks. More complex multi-jurisdiction arrangements or succession structures may require twelve to sixteen weeks, particularly where notarial or legal steps are involved in multiple EU member states.
